Well .. Canada lost 7-5 yesterday to China in the Page #1-2 quarter final game, and is in the semi-final game now.

At 11:30am PST (1:30pm CST) Canada plays Japan ..

The loser of this match plays Switzerland at 6:00pm PST (8:00pm CST) for the “Bronze” Medal.

The winner if this match plays China at 10:30am PST (12:30pm CST) Sunday for the “Gold” Medal.

VERNON, B.C. — Canada’s Jennifer Jones has clinched at least a playoff tiebreaker game here at the Ford World Womens Curling Championship.

With an 8-6 win over Scotland’s Gail Munro Wednesday afternoon, Canada’s Jones improved to 8-1 and would play in at least a playoff tiebreaker game even if she were to lose her final two round-robin games on Thursday.

January 29, 2008…The M&M Meat Shops Canadian junior men’s and women’s curling championships, the first event in the 2008 Season of Champions, get underway Sunday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Thirteen men’s and 13 women’s teams (10 provinces plus Northern Ontario, Northwest Territories and Yukon) will play round robin games at two venues, Soo Curlers Association and Tarentorus Sports Club. At the conclusion of the round robin, the first place teams advance to their respective finals, while the second and third place finishers meet in semi-finals on Saturday evening.

The North American team clinched the Continental Cup title Saturday night, finishing with a convincing 210-80 margin of victory over Europe in Medicine Hat, Alta.

Needing 201 points for victory, North American headed into the 30-point skins matches, which included the men’s, women’s and mixed events, leading 167-63.

Eight months after the Canadian Curling Association released its revamped qualification process for the 2009 Olympic Trials, Brad Gushue is still scratching his head trying to decipher the information.

“I still haven’t gotten it all figured all out yet,” smiled Gushue. “Chris (Schille, Gushue’s second stone) knows it inside out, though. He tells us where we stand after each event. It’s very technical.
