Brad Gushue (Skip)

Brad Gushue (born June 16, 1980 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador) is a Canadian curler. Gushue along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam will represent Canada in curling in the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Gushue is a six-time (1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001) provincial junior curling champion in his home province of Newfoundland and Labrador, the last five as skip. In 2001, he would not only win the provincial championship, but the national championship and world junior championships as well. Gushue was also the alternate for John Morris at the 1998 World Junior Championships which Morris won.

Russ Howard (Second)

Russ Howard (born: February 19, 1956) is a Canadian curler from Moncton, New Brunswick but originally from Penetanguishene, Ontario. Russ Howard has been to the Brier 13 times (8 as Ontario, 5 as New Brunswick), winning the title twice (both as Ontario).

He is also a 2-time world champion, winning in 1987 and 1993. He has also participated in 2 Canadian Mixed Curling Championships. In 2005, he “skipped” Brad Gushue’s team at the Canadian Olympic Trials, while he played second. Howard, along with Gushue (who throws last rocks), lead Jamie Korab and third Mark Nichols would in the trials, giving them the right to represent Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Shannon Kleibrink

Shannon Kleibrink (born October 7, 1968 in Norquay, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. Her, and her team of third Amy Nixon, second Glenys Bakker, lead Christine Keshen and alternate Sandra Jenkins will represent Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

Kleibrink made her debut at the 1993 Scott Tournament of Hearts, Canada’s national curling championship where her team of Sandra Jenkins, Sally Shigehiro and Joanne Wright finished 6-5 representing team Alberta.
