Kerry Burtnyk wins Asham 8-ender

Kerry Burtnyk’s foursome with Dan Kammerlock, Rich Daneault, and Cory Naharnie from Winnipeg’s Assiniboine-Memorial club, won the ASHAM 8-ENDER MEN’S OPEN Tuesday night, topping Jeff Stoughton of Charleswood 8-7 in the final.
It was Burtnyk’s fourth bonspiel victory of the season, adding to wins in Switzerland, Newfoundland, and at West Kildonan in Winnipeg. His team earned $10,000, while Stoughton received $6,000.
Earlier, Sean Grassie of Deer Lodge and Ted Appelman of Edmonton lost in the Asham semi-finals, worth $4,500 apiece, and $3,500 cheques went to losing quarter-finalists Vic Peters of Fort Garry, David Bohn and Randy Dutiaume both of Valour Road, and Bill Kuran of Fort Garry.
