Oct 16, 2006 — Ian Beavis of Morden (with Steve Friesen, Ken Friesen, and Mike Orchard) won the men’s division of the AGRICORE UNITED CLASSIC in Beausejour tonight (Sunday), while the women’s title went to reigning Manitoba junior champion Calleen Neufeld of St. Vital (with Sabrina Neufeld, Laryssa Grenkow, and Breanne Meakin).

Beavis handed James Kirkness of Valour Road his only loss of the cashspiel, winning the men’s final 7-5 to earn the top prize of $3,500. Kirkness settled for runner-up money of $1,750.
