Yorkton’s Gerald Shymko defeated Mark Herbert of Regina to win the Swift Current cash ’spiel at the Swift Current Curling Club on Sunday. Other qualifiers for the playoff round were Rod Montgomery of Kronau, Don Baldwin of Cabri, Carl deConinck Smith of Eston, Brad Law of Regina, Lee Schultz of Regina and Jason Krupski of Whitewood.
Shymko beat Montgomery in the quarter-finals and deConinck Smith in the semi-finals. Herbert beat Baldwin in the quarters and Law in the semi-finals.
