…. One group of Newfoundlanders who were singled out based on their native province was the Brad Gushue curling rink, who will represent Canada at the 2006 Torino Olympics.
Gushue’s team was criticized by mainland media from Toronto, Winnipeg and Edmonton as being the wrong group for the country to send to the Games — whether that opinion was based on skill level or simply because of the team’s home soil varied with each writer….
